It’s Over!

Congratulations! You made it through a month of pursuing your ambitious writing goals. Time doesn’t stop for us during November. You took on this challenge on top of your job, your kids, your relationships– whatever occupies your life. Through all of that, you spent a whole month in the carnival with us, and you should be proud! Whether you wrote 50,000 words or 500, those are words you didn’t have in October. So let’s say it again:

Wrap Party

November is over, but the fun isn’t! Come celebrate all your hard work at our wrap party.

We’ll have a raffle with fabulous prizes, snacks, and time to relax and socialize with fellow writers! Bring a snack to share, or just yourself.

Now What? 

For December, the KanMoWriCo organizers are taking a break! We’ll be back starting January 11th with in person Sunday write-ins and virtual Wednesday night write-ins. You’re still welcome to hang out in Discord and run sprints, but we won’t be organizing anything until next year. Come to the wrap party for a sneak preview of our 2026 programs, or watch this space 👀 for more announcements in January.

This was a banner year for KanMoWriCo. We hosted two month-long workshops, dove into short stories for the first ever Spring Sprint. In the newly revamped Novel November we brought back our live overnight write-in, got fancy with the KCK library, wrote like crazy for TMOD, and kept going late into the night at Last Ditch. We led 38 write-ins for a total of 134 hours of writing time– not counting what our writers did at home! Together we wrote 1,192,000 million words in November alone and helped writers across the metro set time aside to dedicate to creativity and literacy. 

We couldn’t do this without community support! Thank you again to everyone who donated to help us run all of our programs throughout this year, including Novel November. We are so fortunate to have your generous support and the donation of space from places like our public libraries and KC Book Beat. If you enjoyed Novel November and want to keep it going, you can chip in at our ko-fi or buy our merch!
