Our Mission
The Kansas-Missouri Writers’ Collective exists to promote writing and literature, providing education around writing. editing, publishing and marketing for writers in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
KanMoWriCo believes in the transformational power of creativity through writing, whether that writing leads to publication or not. We believe that the idea of the solitary writer is a myth, and that writing community should be available to all. We have cultivated a community, both in person and online, to provide support, encouragement and accountability for writers.

We are free and open to everyone who wants to write regardless of how they identify, why they write, or what they write.
Inclusivity
We are committed to creating a welcoming environment for all regardless of race, sex, gender identity or presentation, sexual orientation, income, ability, or country of origin.
Community
The solitary writer is a myth. We believe that writing together strengthens community bonds.
Creativity
We are committed to human creativity and seek to equip writers to overcome internal barriers that prevent them from expressing their creativity.

As a non-profit, we are committed to being transparent in our business decisions and in our community moderation.
