What is it?
This Workshop Series is a round-table discussion group of Kansas City writers reading one another’s work and offering honest, constructive feedback. The workshop setting is a place to get fresh eyes on your writing and better understand the mechanics of storytelling through reading and critiquing others.
What is required?
As a workshop participant, you will submit an excerpt of up to 5,000 words. This can be a short story or an excerpt of a longer piece. You will also be asked to read and annotate 2-3 pieces per week and be prepared to discuss them in person.
When and where is it?
Workshop sessions will be held in person from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on August 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. All meetings will be held at the Plaza Library Branch before the Sunday write-in. Plan to attend all sessions—your participation as both a reader and a writer are vital to the workshop experience.
