Short Story Intensive

On the third Saturday of every month, Bee hosts a short story intensive! The intensive is a dedicated work and critique time for writers to hone their short story skills. This takes place entirely virtually on our Discord in the Short Story Intensive channel. Check our calendar for this month’s dates!

Many writers have had their short stories accepted by publications after participating in the intensive. Giving yourself a realistic short story deadline is a great way to stretch your skills and make sure you actually have an end product. No endless tweaking of word choice or procrastination here, this is a time and place to finish things.

Promise of Death by Catherine Chappell

Our very first acceptance from the Short Story Intensive! This was Catherine’s first attempt at writing microfic and her first submission to a publication!

Thermocline by Bee Hawthorne

(publishing soon!) This was Bee’s first submission! While it’s shorter than she usually writes, Bee’s really proud of how much science she managed to fit into 250 words.

Bacchanalia Piece by Catherine Chappell

(publishing soon!) Bacchanalia Magazine Issue 2 “Consume” will include a prose piece by Catherine!
