It’s the final week of Preptober, and Novel November is literally right around the corner! For Phase Five, we’re initiating a Routine Maintenance Program, with some last-minute tips and tricks for making sure your November mission to the stars goes smoothly.
Last-minute planning
If you didn’t get as much done during Preptober as you initially planned, that’s okay! Do some quick creativity exercises to shake loose some fun ideas. Set aside fifteen minutes to do some free writing, ask yourself “What if?” questions, or even write some fanfiction.
Get yourself in a creative headspace so that when November 1 hits, your engines are warmed up and ready for liftoff!
Tell your family and friends
Let your loved ones know about the writing journey you’re embarking on! The more people you have cheering you on, the easier it will be to stick to your goal, even when you’re in the mid-month slump.
Make a plan to write
KanMosWriCo is hosting write-ins every single day in November. Take a look at the calendar, and identify which ones you’d like to attend. Our writing marathons — including Write ’til Dawn, the Traveling Marathon of Doom, and the Black Friday Virtual Marathon — are great opportunities to up your word count.
Ready for liftoff
The rockets are glowing red, we’re ready to blast off into the solar system.
Join us for our first Novel November event, Write ’til Dawn at Hollis Renewal Center. Doors open at 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, and the event ends at 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 1. There will be plenty of snacks, writing sprints, and even a pancake breakfast.
